Resources which are inexhaustible and can be replenished by nature are called renewable resources. For example, water, sunlight etc.

Resources which are in limited quantity and cannot be replenished by nature are called non-renewable resources. Coal and petroleum are non-renewable resources.

The need to conserve resources goes beyond national and international boundaries. Sustainable development is the means to conserve our precious resources. Sustainable development is utilisation of resources for fulfilling the present needs in such a manner that they can also be used by future generations.
