  • Flower buds, petals, roots, and leaves of a suitable herbaceous plant can be used as an alternative to germinating seeds for the experiments on respiration in plants.
  • Around 8 to 10 germinating seeds can be taken for the respiration experiments.
  • Radish and carrot have a common origin and therefore, a common ancestry. The structures which are similar in origin but perform different functions are homologous structures or organs. Radish and carrot are not only roots, but they also perform the same function of storage of food.
