we are considering two bodies a and b of equal masses,if a body collides with the target body of equal mass at rest,than they are making right angle to each other .......why?

Hi Rajendra,

If two bodies are of same mass and if one collides with the other at rest, then the first body will come to rest and the other will start moving with the velocity of the first body.

That is the two bodies will exchange their velocities and not move perpendicular as you mentioned.
