# Volume of a cylinder is πy2x, where y and x are radius and height of the cylinder respectively. Find percentage error in the measurement of volume. which of the two measurement, height or radius need more attention?

Asked by Topperlearning User 15th July 2016, 5:39 PM

Height of cylinder = x

Volume of cylinder = ∏y2x

Percentage error in measurement of volume

% error in v = 2 × % error in y + % error in x

x 100 = x 100

Hence, radius needs more attention because any error in its measurement is multiplied two times.
