verify 1st law of motion mathematically from the second law of motion

Second law of motion : Fext = dp / dt

if Fext = 0, then p = constant, it means the velocity is constant.

Hence we can say that if no external force is applied on the system then it would remain in its state of motion or rest. This is nothing but first law of motion.
