CBSE Class 10 Answered

ü  In an ac electric generator the current flow is reversed every half revolution which means that if the current in the first half flows from A to B in the upward direction and from C to D in the downward direction hen in the second half the positions and current flow is interchanged by the two arms AB and CD. Now applying Fleming’s right hand rule we get the current to be flowing and passing through CD and then AB. The same change in the direction takes place in case of electric motor. So can the motor be called AC Motor?  If yes then we all know that electrical devices like the radios, televisions, stereo sets, etc work on dc but not ac, then how is the motors in them designed?

Fleming's right-hand rule is used for generators.
while fleming's left-hand rule is used for motors
In a generator, electricity is produced due to mechanical energy provided externally
In motor electricity is supplied to produce mechanical energy or motion.
Generally radios and television do not have motors in them.
Stereo sets have motors in them which are dc motors.
