Using BPT prove that a line segment drawn through the mid points of one side of a triangle parallel to another side bisects the third side

Let ABC be a triangle in which D is mid point of AB

 DE || BC.  To prove E is mid point of AC.

          In ABC                                               

          DE || BC

           (By BPT)

          Since AD = DB

  Therefore E is the mid point of AC.
