Urea is colourless but why urine has different colour shades?

Though urea is colourless, there are different shades of urine as it depends upon the amount of water in the body.

When we don't drink sufficient water, the body is dehydrated. In such situations, the brain works harder than normal and instructs the kidney to retain moisture leading to excretion of dark concentrated urine(yellow).

The opposite happens when we have ample amount of water in the body and urine is light coloured or white.
