Two squares have sides x cm and (x+5)cm .The sum of their areas is 697 sq.cm
Hence
x2 + (x+5)2 = 697
2x2+10x+25 = 697
2x2+10x-672=0
x2+5x-336=0

Solving
x2+21x-16x-336=0
(x+21)(x-16)=0
x=-21
x=16

sides can't be negative
x=16

so sides are 16 and 21
