Let  OA and OB represent the force vectors with magnitude P and 2P. OC will be resultant formed by making a parallelogram OACB.

Let magnitude of OA' = 2P and it is parallel to OA. Similarly Let magnitude of OB' = 2P+20 and it is parallel to OB.

It is given that resultant OC' formed by parallelogram OA'C'B' is in the same direction of OC.

Hence ΔOAC  and  ΔOA'C' are similar triangles.  Hence  (2P+20)/2P = 2P/P = 2   or  P = 10 N
