Let E1 be the event of getting sum as 5.

The possible combinations of top faces of dies for the event E1  = { (1,4), (4,1), (2,3), (3,2) }

hence probability for the event E1 = p(E1) = 4/36

Let E2 be the event of getting greater number in top face of second die than that of first die

The possible combinations of top faces of dies for the event E2

= { (1,2), (1,3), (1,4),  (1,5), (1,6), (2,3), (2,4), (2,5), (2,6), (3,4), (3,5), (3,6), (4,5), (4,6), (5,6) }

hence probability for the event E2 = p(E2) = 15/36

p(E1) + p(E2) = (4/36) + (15/36)  = 19/36
