if you consider earth as a solid sphere, the potential at surface is given by Q/(4πε0 R), where R is earth radius which is 6370 km. Due to the enormous size of this solid sphere, potential developed is almost negligible. The absorbed charge will be distributed in surface and charge density will be negligible
