Figure shows two vectors A and B, when the resultant vector A+B is perpendicular to vector B.
 
If vectors A and B are sides of parallelogram, then magnitude of vector A = OQ = PR
 
In right ΔOPR,  PR > OP . 
 
Since OP is magnitude of vector B,  vector A > vector B
 
Above conclusion is true only if  resultant vector (A+B) is perpendicular to vector B
