There are 2 oxides of sulphur.They contain 50% AND 60% of oxygen respectively by weights. The weights of sulpher which combines with 1gm of oxygen in the ratio of?

Given: 
 
   Oxygen 
 Sulphur
(by difference)
First oxide     50%        60%
Second oxide     50%        40%
In the first oxide, its 50 parts by weight of oxygen combine with sulphur = 50 parts
 
Therefore, 1 part by weight of oxygen will combine with sulphur = 50 over 50 space equals space 1
 
Similarly, in the second oxide 60 parts of oxygen combine with sulphur=40 over 60 space equals space 2 over 3
 
Now, comparing the weights of sulphur we get,
 
1 space colon space 2 over 3 space equals space 3 space colon space 2
