The total surface are of a solid cylinder is 231 cm2 and its curved surface area is of the total surface area. Find the volume of the cylinder.

TSA of cylinder = 231 cm2

2r (h + r) = 231 ….(i)

CSA of cylinder =

= 154 cm2

2rh = 154 …..(ii)

Substituting (ii) in (i)

2rh + 2r2 = 231

154 + 2r2 = 2312

r2 = 231 - 154 = 77

= 269.5 cm3
