The system shown in fig is in equilibrium, find the tension in each string ,T1,T2,T3,T4 and T5.

By symmetry T1 = T2 and T4 = T5
 
At point-A, after resolving the tension forces into horizontal and vertical components,
as seen from figure, horizontal components cancel each other and vertical components are getting added together.
 
At (B) and ( C ), when we resolve the tension forces into horizontal and vertical components,
equal and opposite horizontal components make T3 as zero.
 
If we balance the vertical components of tension forces, we get,  begin mathsize 12px style 2 cross times open parentheses T subscript 1 space cos space 30 space plus space T subscript 4 space cos space 60 space close parentheses space equals space 20 cross times g space............... left parenthesis 1 right parenthesis end style
if same string is passing through A to B and B to D, then tension force will be same throughout the string. Hence T1 = T4   ................(2)
 
from (1) and (2), we get  T1 = T2 = T4 = T5 = 72 N and T3 = 0
