The ratio of denominator and numerator is in the ratio 4:1. Prove that 1/3 part of the numerator is added to it become the ratio 3:1

Ratio of denominator to numerator is in the ratio 4:1, hence the fraction is 1/4
 
if 1/3 part of numerator is added to numerator, then modified fraction = begin mathsize 12px style fraction numerator 1 plus begin display style bevelled 1 third end style over denominator 4 end fraction space equals space fraction numerator begin display style bevelled 4 over 3 end style over denominator 4 end fraction space equals space 1 third end style
hence in modified fraction, ratio of denominator to numerator = 3:1
