ICSE Class 9 Answered
The pressure of water on the ground floor is 40,000 Pa and on the first floor is 10,000Pa. Find the height of the first floor. Given density of water is 1000Kg/m^3, g = 10m/s^2

Expert Answer
ΔP = p0 - p1 = ρ×g×Δh
where Δh is height of first floor from ground. p0 and p1 are water pressure at ground and first floor respectively
40000-10000 = 30000 = 1000×9.8×Δh
Δh = 30/9.8 = 3.06 m
