Figure shows the circuit showing the direction of current flow.
if we consider the path ABCD and applying kirchoff's rule for sign convention of potential difference,
we have -i×10 + 5 = 4 .............(1)
from (1), we get i = 1/10 A
if we consider the path AEFD and applying kirchoff's rule for sign convention of potential difference,
we have i x + 2 = 4 .............(2)
by substituting i = 1/10 A in eqn.(2), we get x = 20 Ω
