hello Amrut,

the point (a,a) lies on the line y = x,

since the x co-ordinate = y co-ordinate


(i) for the point to be on x-axis its y co-ordinate should be zero

(ii) for the point to be on y-axis its x co-ordinate should be zero

(iii) for the point to be on line x+y=0, x and y co-ordinates should be same and of opposite sign , x = -y
