Expert Answer
The Parsis were the first Indian community to set up a cricket club in India because they were closely related to the English as a trading community. They were also the first community to be westernised. There were many Parsi businessmen and traders at that time who contributed financially to the development of the game in the community. The Parsi clubs were sponsored by Parsi businessmen such as the Tata and the Wadias.
