The motion of moon around the earth is periodic motion.
When object turns or spin around the fixed axis then its motion is called rotational motion.
Earth repeats its motion around the sun in regular interval of time hence its motion is said to be periodic whereas earth rotates about its own axis and comple 1 rotation in 24 hours, so this rotation of earth around its own axis is said to be rotational motion.
