x coordinate :   x = 2+2t + 4t2   ;  x-component of velocity = dx/dt = 2 + 8 t  .......................(1)
 
y coordinate :   x = 4t + 8t2   ;      y-component of velocity = dy/dt = 4 +16 t  .......................(2)
 
hence by dividing eqn.(2) by eqn.(1), we get, dy/dx = 2  
 
since slope of x-y graph ( both x and y are displacement ) is constant, particle moves in a straight line
