The minute hand of a wall clock is 10 cm long. Find its displacement and the distance covered from 10 a.m. to 10.30 a.m.

Length of the minute hand l = 10cm.

From 10 am to 10:30 am, the tip of the minute hand moves to diametrically opposite point on the clock.

Thus, Displacement = Diameter AOB = 2l = 20 cm

And, Total distance covered by the minute hand = (1/2) circumference = arc (ACB) =
