The magnitude of electric field E in the annular region of a charged cylindrical capacitor is .Please explain. Ans is varies as 1/r, where r is the distance from the axis

As shown in figure, electric field between the co-axial cylinder is due to charges on the inner cylinder.
 
A gaussian surface consists of imaginary cylinder of length and radius r is shown in figure.
 
By Gauss theorem we have,  E×A = Q/ε   .................(1)
here E is electric field, A is area of surface through which electric flux pass through,
Q is enclosed charge and ε is the permitivity of medium.
 
in eqn. (1)  A = 2πr×L  , hence   E  = begin mathsize 12px style fraction numerator begin display style bevelled Q over L end style over denominator epsilon space 2 pi space r end fraction end style ....................(2)
Hence  if we assume Q' = Q/L = charge per unit length,
 
Electri field inside a cylindrical capacitor at a distance r from centre = Q' / ( ε 2π r )
