the length of a rectangle is 5cm more than twice its breadth. If the perimeter is 118cm. Find its length and breadth. Then find its area.

Answer:
Let l is length and b is breadth of rectangle.
 
By given information :  l = (2b+5)
 
Perimeter = 2l+2b = 2×(2b+5) + 2b = 6b+10 = 118 cm
 
hence, 6b = 108 cm  or  b = 18 cm ;  l = 2×18+5 = 41 cm ;  Area = 41×18 = 738 cm2
