The largest possible  sphere is curved out of a solid wooden cube of edge 28 cm . What volume of the wood chipped away from the cube.

The side of a cube = diameter of a sphere = 28 cm
 
 
 begin mathsize 16px style Volume space of space the space sphere equals 4 over 3 πr cubed space equals space 4 over 3 cross times space 22 over 7 cross times 14 cubed space equals space 11498.67 space cm cubed space space space space left parenthesis space straight d space equals 28 space rightwards double arrow space straight r space equals space 14 space cm space right parenthesis end style  
Volume of a Cube = (28)3 = 21952 cm3

Volume of the wood chipped away from the cube = 21952 - 11498.67 = 10453.33 cm3
