Horizontal range R of projectile ....................(1)
where u is projection velocity and α is the angle of projection made with horizontal.
velcoity u acquired by a freely falling body from height h is given by, .....(2)
Range is maximum when α = 45º
hence from(1) and (2), maximum range Rmax = 2×h
