the height and radius of the base of a cylinder are in ratio 3:1. if its volume is 1029pie cm cube find its total surface area

Radius : height = 3 : 1
Let common factor is x, then radius is 3x cm and height is x cm.
 
Volume of cone = (1/3)π(3x)2(x) = 1029π   or x3 = 343 = 73 ;  hence x = 7
 
radius = 3×7 = 21 cm and height = 7 cm
 
Surface area = begin mathsize 12px style straight pi cross times 21 cross times square root of 21 squared plus 7 squared end root space equals space straight pi cross times 147 cross times square root of 10 space Sq. cm end style
