The events of the menstrual cycle are represented below. Answer the following questions.        (i) State the levels of FSH, LH and progesterone simply by mentioning high or low around 13th and 14th day and 21st to 23rd day. (ii) In which of the above mentioned phases does the egg travel to fallopian tube? (iii) Why is there no menstruation after fertilisation?

(ii) The egg travels to the fallopian tube at the end of follicular or proliferative phase.

 

(iii) Menstruation does not occur during pregnancy upon fertilisation due to high level of progestenone secreted by the persisting corpus luteum and placenta.
