The electrostatic force on a metal sphere of a charge 0.4 macrocoulomb due to another identical metal sphere of charge - 0.8 macrocoulomb in air is 0.2 Newton .find the distance between the two sphere and also the force between same to sphere When They brought into contact and placed in there initial position?

macrocoulomb ?????  , I assume it is micro coulomb, may be typing error
 
AS per coulomb's law, Force  begin mathsize 12px style equals space fraction numerator 0.4 cross times 10 to the power of negative 6 end exponent cross times left parenthesis negative 0.8 right parenthesis cross times 10 to the power of negative 6 end exponent over denominator 4 pi epsilon subscript 0 space r squared end fraction space equals negative 0.2 space N space............... left parenthesis 1 right parenthesis end style
(force between unlike chareges are -ve by convention) in above equation r is the separation distance between charges.
 
 
hence begin mathsize 12px style r space equals space square root of fraction numerator 1 over denominator 4 pi epsilon subscript 0 end fraction cross times fraction numerator 0.32 cross times 10 to the power of negative 12 end exponent over denominator 0.2 end fraction end root space equals space 0.012 space m space equals space 12 space c m end style
When both the spheres are in contact, equal amount of +ve and -ve charges neutralize,
hence both spheres will get -0.2 micro coulomb.
 
hence the repulsive force is (0.2/0.32)×0.04 = 0.025 N
