I guess lfp and ufp stands for lower fixed point and upper fixed point respectively.
I also guess lfp is ice point i.e., 0°C and ufp is boiling point of water at 1 atm. pressure, i.e., 100°C
hence 15.5 cm is 15.5 °C
in fahrenhiet scale :- (15.5 - 32)×(9/5) = -29.7 °F
