The slant height to the shorter side of the base (i.e. side of length 18 m) is 24 m
So, a right angled triangle is formed with hypotenuse as slant height = 24m and base as 13 m
Therefore height h of the pyramid is obtained by Pythagoras theorem
therefore h squared equals 24 squared minus 13 squared equals 407
rightwards double arrow h equals square root of 407
A r e a space o f space t h e space b a s e space equals space l e n g t h space cross times space b r e a d t h space equals space 18 cross times 26
V o l u m e space o f space t h e space p y r a m i d equals 1 third cross times A r e a space o f space t h e space b a s e space cross times space h e i g h t space o f space p y r a m i d
therefore V o l u m e equals 1 third cross times 18 cross times 26 cross times square root of 407 equals 156 square root of 407 space m cubed
