the base of a triangular field is 2.4 times the height, if the cost of levelling the field @ Rs 20 per sq. m is Rs 9600, find its base and height.

Let the height be H. Base = 2.4H
Area = half X base X height = 1.2H X H = 1.2H2
Cost of levelling is 9600 at Rs 20 per square meter.
Hence, area of the field = 9600 / 20 = 480 sq. m.
Hence, 1.2H2 = 480
H2 = 400
H = 20 meter
Hence, base = 2.4 X 20 = 48 meter
