Let base of the triangle be x cm. Hence altitude is (x-7) cm.

Since hypotenuse is 13 cm, we have,  x2 + (x-7)2 = 132

2x2 -14x - 120 = 0   or  x2 -7x -60 = 0   or (x-12)(x+5) = 0

hence x = 12, two sideds are 12 cm and 5 cm
