State Newton's first law of motion. Why is it known as the law of inertia?
Newton's first law of motion states that an object at rest or in motion will remain at rest or in uniform motion unless an unbalanced force acts on it.
In a qualitative way, the tendency of undisturbed objects to stay at rest or to keep moving with the same velocity is called inertia. This is why, the first law of motion is also known as the law of inertia.
