Answer:

Cp, Cv - Molar specific heat, J/mol K.

And we have,

Cp - Cv = R                     

M - Molecular weight has units of gm/mol, or kg/kmol.

cp( J/gm K) = Cp/M [(J/mol K)/(gm/mol) ]

similarly

cv( J/gm K) = Cv/M [(J/mol K)/(gm/mol) ]

Cp - Cv = R

Mcp - Mcv = R

cp - cv = R/M.
