Answer : Given : (5/x) + 2y = (17/3) and (2/x) +3y = -(16/3)
To find : value of x and y

Let 1/x = p ..............(1)
therefore the equation becomes

5p + 2y = (17 / 3)....................(2)
2p +3y = - (16 / 3 )..................(3)

multiply 3 with eq (2) and 2 with eq (3), we get
=> 15 p +6y =17
-( 4 p   +6y = -(32/3))
---------------------------------------------------
11 p          = 83/3
=> p = 83 / 33

Now putting the above value of p in eq (2), we get
5 ( 83/3)+ 2y = 17/3
y= - (76/22)

Since p=1/x
=> x= 1/p
=> x = 33/83

Answer : x = 33/83  and y =  -76/22
