Solve by reducing to a pair of linear equations in two variables--

Expert Answer
6x + 3y = 6xy
2x + 4y = 5xy
Dividing both sides of equations by xy assuming x,y to be non zero
we get
6/y+3/x = 6 which is 2/y+1/x = 2
and 2/y+4/x = 5
taking 1/x = u and 1/y = v
we have 2v+u = 2 and 2v+4u = 5
Solving we get u = 1 v = 1/2
So x = 1 and y = 2
