Expert Answer
In the first case,
Income on Rs 140 = 17% of Rs 100 = Rs 17
Income on Rs 1 = Rs
In the second case,
Income on Rs 112 = 9% of Rs 100 = Rs 9
Income on Rs 1 = Rs
Let us assume the number of shares at 112 be x
Then number of shares at 140 is (8456 - x)
Given, income from shares at 112 is greater than income from shares at 140 by Rs 58
Solving for x,
we get x = Rs 5376
