when ice melts it absorbs thermal energy from surrounding medium due to latent heat of fusion.
One gram ice absorbs 336 Joules of thermal energy from surrounding liquid.
Due to this absorbtion of thermal energy by ice, soft drink looses lot of thermal energy and
appreciable temperature reduction is taking place
