CBSE Class 9 Answered

sir, you told that: a linear equation in 2 variables is: ax+by+c=0, where a,b,c are real numbers and 'a' and 'b' are NOT EQUAL TO 0. then how can: 7x= -5 in one variable be written as : 7x+0y+5=0,in two variables where b=0?

In the general form ax+by+c=0, both a and cannot be zero together but one of then can be zero and other be non zero. So every equation of the form ax+b=0 can also be written as
ax+0y+c=0 as a equation in two variable.
