Answere 1 is correct, that is, in Y the ratio nH2 / nO2  will first increse and then decrese until it reaches a constant value.
 
As it is not correct that the ratio nH2 / nO2  in X will increase monotonically. Because it is not possible that only one gas at time will diffuse from the mixture of gases.
Therefore statement 1 is correct.
