CBSE Class 11-science Answered
Sir,
We are paying more than 25 Rs.per question. Here may be my mistake of not convying message properly. I spent more than 50 for one question!
In here I did't meant that I can't understand root of 8. I meant what is the logic behind taking (2 square + 2 square) in root as we want to find , displacement in 20s.

If you look at the question posted by you, it was not conveyed properly. You could have clearly stated it earlier so that there was no room for error at the first place itself.
The question mentions that it is a square track. It also mentions that it completed one round in 40 s. So, in 20 s it would have reached a point which is exactly opposite to the starting point.
Hence, displacement will be the diagonal of the square. So, to find the length of the diagonal Pythagoras theorem is used, and hence, the square root appears wherein 2 is the length of the side.
