excess volume of mercury = V0T(γm - 3αg )
 
crosssection Area of capillary at T°C = A0(1+2αg T)
 
Length of mercury column in capillary = begin mathsize 12px style fraction numerator V subscript 0 open parentheses gamma subscript m T space minus space 3 alpha subscript g close parentheses over denominator A subscript 0 open parentheses 1 space plus space 2 alpha subscript g T close parentheses end fraction end style  ;   hence (B) is the correct answer
