Expert Answer

50, 48, 46, 44,.....

a = 50 and d = 48 - 50 = -2

Let t_n be the first negative term.

t_n < 0

a + (n - 1)d < 0

50 + (n - 1)(-2) < 0

Solving we get n > 26

So, 27^th is the first negative term in the given sequence.

According to the question S₂₆ is the maximum sum of the gien sequence.

Find S₂₆ using a = 50, n = 26 and d = -2 we get S₂₆ = 650
