Answer:
Equation of SHM :- x = a sin ωt.
we are given a = 4 cm , ω = 2π /T = 2π /1.2 = 5π/3
hence we have :- x = 4 sin(5π/3)t ...........(1)
time at x=2 cm will be obtained as :- 2 = 4 sin(5π/3)t ..........(2)
Solving eqn.(2) for t , we get t = 0.1 s
at x = 4 we have t = T/4 = 1.2/4 = 0.3 s
hence form x=2 to x=4 time taken = 0.3-0.1 = 0.2 s
if we include the time to come back to the position x=2, then we have mimimum time = 0.4 s
