JEE Class main Answered

Sir i have a boubt that the centripetal force due to the ritatuon of earth is effecting the acceleration due to gravity , but the centripetal force is different for different masses , so the gravity is also different for diffrendi mass ? Help me.

It is wrong notion to assume that centripetal force affecting gravitation.

When an object moves in a circular path, there is an inherent force directed towards centre .
If this force is absent , the body will not move in circular path , but will move tangentially.

Hence when an object revolves in a circular path, there is already radial force, i.e. force directed toward centre is already there.

From physics of circular motion, it is worked out as,  ( mv2 / R ) , where m is mass, v is tangential speed and R is radius of circular path.

when a planet moves around the sun , gravitation force is acting as centripetal force

when a bob suspended using string in simple pendulam moves in a circular path, Tension force in the string acting as centripetal force.

when a vehicle moves in a circular path, friction between tyre of the wheel and ground acting as centripetal force.

In the above examples, we can think that gravitational force, Tension force and friction force are given common name as centripetal force.

When an object moves in a circular path, already a radial force is present.
We analyse the motion by equating the existing force to centripetal force using the expression of centripetal force  ( mv2 / R )
