Hi Vishes,

In orchids, male insects are sexually attracted to flowers. The floral scent of orchids imitates the smell of pheromones. Pheromones are the chemicals used by the female insects to attract male insects. Male insects try to attempt copulation during which pollination takes place. Such flowers are dull coloured.
