Answer:
The given diagram shows that C and D are connected by conducting wire. so we assumed C and D are at same potential.
Hence potential difference between C and D is zero.
 
Let us redraw the given diagram as given below

 
we have two parallel combination of 20Ω and 5Ω are connected in series. 
each parallel combination of 20Ω and 5Ω gives equivalent resistance 4Ω.
Hence resiatnce across A and B is 8Ω. If i is current passing from A to B then potential difference across A and B is 8×i volt
